
The Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) was formed in 1947 to unite those interested in navigation as well as to advance the practice and promote knowledge of the subject. Nowadays it has regional branches and ten special interest groups covering all environments - land, sea and air - catering for interests ranging from the history of air navigation to research and development.The Institute runs meetings and conferences and publishes a journal, magazine, newsletters and books.
