Founded in 1868, The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is regulated by its Royal Charter with the objective of promoting the public good. This allows RICS to comment independently on matters that it perceives to be relevant to its profession. RICS numbers over 110,000 members who work in both the public and private sector, including the areas of commercial and residential property, taxation, information technology, geomatics and geographic information and valuation advice on land, property and construction matters.
